Coriander Seed (Single Parrot Small)

Coriander Seed (Single Parrot Small) is a mid-level, economically processed grade of coriander (Coriandrum sativum), ideal for spice millers, bulk processors, and manufacturers looking for a cost-effective yet aromatic coriander option. It is called “Single Parrot” because it undergoes one round of mechanical cleaning and sieving using a parrot (screening) machine, which removes coarse foreign materials, leaving behind mostly uniform, smaller-sized coriander seeds.

These seeds typically measure between 2.5–3.5 mm, making them smaller than Scooter grades but still highly functional in terms of flavor and essential oil content. The outer skin of the seeds ranges from pale yellow to light brown, often with slight natural imperfections. Though not polished or sortex-cleaned, this grade still delivers a good level of purity (~97–98%) and is suitable for applications where visual appeal is secondary to flavor performance, such as grinding into powders or spice pre-mixes.

The flavor profile is mildly citrusy with warm earthy undertones, driven by its linalool content. This variety is widely used by regional masala producers, contract packers, and in low to mid-tier food service applications, especially in blended spice formats. It is also a common export item to African, Middle Eastern, and Southeast Asian markets where coriander is used in bulk food production.
